03–Background
Somalia has experienced significant growth in digital media, social-media platforms, and independent content creation. Young people increasingly use smartphones and digital platforms to tell stories, build audiences, promote businesses, and develop creative careers.
However, many emerging creators lack access to professional training, production experience, industry networks, mentorship, professional exposure, and career opportunities. Magool Challenge was developed in response to this changing media environment, seeking to identify young women with creative potential and provide them with an environment where they could learn, compete, create, and gain professional visibility.

04–The Concept
Contestants were required to create and communicate, not simply perform.
Magool Challenge combined the entertainment value of reality television with the practical objectives of a creative talent-development program, challenging contestants to create engaging content and tell stories from their own perspectives.
05–Selection Process
The project attracted approximately 290 applicants. Following the selection process, 24 female content creators were chosen to participate in the main competition — a journey that continued well beyond the final episode.
